Cleo and Her Kittens

This rescue story began in late 2021 in the town of Bethel Springs, TN, population 758. The town is located about 90 miles east of Purrfect Match’s home in Millington, TN. It is considerably outside our normal service area in West Tennessee, but when we heard about the hopeless situation we were compelled to help.

Cleo, a mother cat, brought her three newborn kittens to the door of a woman living in Bethel Springs. It was the start of a cold winter. The woman took Cleo and her kittens in, nurtured them and everyone was thriving. In the spring, the situation became urgent when the woman had plans to move and could not take these guys with her. There is no animal shelter or rescue group within 70 miles of Bethel Springs.

She discovered Purrfect Match through an online search and contacted us for help. We were able to arrange a place for them at our facility and soon Cleo and kids were safely tucked in with us. We got them all tested, vaccinated and spay/neutered and in May 2022, Cleo and her kittens were transported to Purrfect Match’s adoption partner HART of Maine. Cleo was adopted separately but all three of her kittens went to ONE home!

Simon and Erin adopting the three kittens!

Here is an update from their forever home:My wife and I visited HART of Maine looking for a cat or cats. We saw several we thought would be a good fit for our home and lifestyle. We saw these three kittens from Tennessee and fell in love! We adopted all three! Now they have the “run of the house” and often sound like a herd of tiny wildebeests running around! As most cats do, they love to take naps and curl up in comfortable, warm spaces, often my office, but also many other nooks and our new high wall platforms. We are so glad we adopted all of them! We feel we hit the “cat lottery” with these three little cuties. They are the most delightful creatures imaginable. They definitely love each other, often sleeping together, cuddling, licking and of course, tussling! They are a constant delight and joy to have around! Thank you for rescuing them! All photos below show them at our home in Maine.”
