Griff the Cat

Griff’s story is an amazing one. We believe that every life matters and we are often the rescue group that Memphis area shelters turn to when a cat is seriously ill or injured. We are willing to put in the time, loving care and financial resources to help a cat recover so they can be ready for their forever home.

Griff was found in Memphis hanging from a razor wire fence.

Griff, when he was found.

Memphis Animal Control had to call the Fire Department to cut Griff out. (He was named after the firefighter who rescued him!) When he arrived at the Memphis Animal Shelter, he still had a piece of razor wire in him. Fortunately, the wire had not damaged any of Griff’s organs.

Griff with piece of wire still stuck in him.

After the wire was removed, the Memphis Animal Shelter put out a plea asking for a cat rescue group to assume responsibility for Griff. Purrfect Match responded to the plea and transferred Griff to Oak Tree Animal Clinic, covering all his on-going medical bills. There he was given further wound care, neutered and given dental care. Griff stole the hearts of all Purrfect Match volunteers who cared for him.

He is 8-10 years old, very “chatty,” loves being held and is definitely a “lap cat!” Griff is a gentle “old soul” sort and a social, affectionate guy. After fully recovering from his injuries, Griff went to our adoption partner, Cat Tales, in Seabrook, New Hampshire where he was quickly adopted and now has a fabulous, loving “forever” home.
